RANDOM
THOUGHTS

I was searching for follow-up news on the Sydney riots, when all I found was a wire service report almost comically titled
"Anti-Social Behavior in Sydney"
in which the reporter wrote that a car full of molotov cocktails and other weapons had been prevented by police from reaching its destination, without stating what that destination had been, and without saying who the people inside that car were.
Which means we can safely assume that they were Islamofascists, because the criminal intentions of white guys would never have been protected like that.

I saw a wonderful show on A&E.
Called Random 1........it has a beautiful logo, and is a reality-type show in which a small group of people helped a guy who was desperate because he'd lost his job, to find a new one. The reason it was so special, is because we're almost never being given a view of male desperation. One seldom gets a chance to realize just how pervasive that total vacuum of male experience has become, in today's media. I hope these people continue to break the stereo-type of "only women suffer" that's forever being thrown at us.

I don't know who or what "Verison" is, but they should re-design their logo, as it has what I consider to be the worst design-fault a logo can have, in that it has TWO red slashes, which prevents the eye from being able to rest on one single focus.

Dwight Yoakam's song
"Fast as I Can"
is still the best country song ever
played by the best country band ever.

I love perfection.

C-Span's now-dead Booknotes showed a 1999 interview with
Mark Pendergrast, the author of
"Uncommon Grounds"
(nice title)
which is a book about coffee, would you believe?
Sounds boring, right?
But this guy so much loved his subject-matter, that coffee became a fascinating product. I noticed that it wasn't the idea of coffee, he loved so much, but also anything else on earth that grabbed his interest. It's a beautiful thing to watch, when a person truly loves whatever he is writing, thinking, or talking about. Because they get you to share that love. You just can't help yourself. And it feels great!
